Oast House Conversion

In this beautiful oast house, we met the clients needs for a spacious and functional two bed apartment, whilst still preserving the heritage of the old building. We integrated modern technology into a traditional building, installing a ground source heat pump to provide underfloor heating throughout. Elements of the original oast house were maintained; the timber balustrade, which was combined with an oak stair in a fusion of old and new, and the stone wall, which was preserved on one end of the room and painted at the other. The contemporary kitchen boasts a 3m long island with a flush hob.

““I’m delighted with the whole design and build and couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of builders to be in the house.”
